From Michael Cheval
To all 5 opponents of the WAF! The one thing I would like to ask the critics of WAF – Who are the judges? Who are these people who so brutally and forcefully defy WAF and personally Mr. Marengo? Who is Christian De Boek? What is so remarkable about this man, with what did he glorify himself and thereby acquired the right to judge? If he is an art critic, his expression and the texts are extremely unprofessional, and often obscene. A real critic has never made a personal remarks and never resorting to insults. If he is an artist, then, for reasons of professional ethics, he has no right to drag his colleagues through the mud. If he is neither the artist nor the critic, then he has no right to judge. By his tone he can be defined as a gallbladder and jealous person, who pleasures himself with mud, which he fills the space of the Internet. Mud is his natural environment, with the intoxication, he repeats the same words, trying to defame the business, the essence of which he had not even attempted to penetrate.
And to all of you, who willingly or unwillingly became his supporters, I'd like to ask: Don’t you have anything else to do? Most of you consider yourself artists. So is the purpose of the artist to spent all day on the Internet typing on a keyboard, spreading all over the Internet gossips and rumors? You forgot about the brushes and paints, you do not care how your paintings are selling and what should be done to ensure that they sell even better? Instead, you’re like some people in a marketplace who day and night chew over non-existent facts and accuse people you don’t even know. And the most unfortunate, that you did not even try to learn about them. It is believed that mental illness is not contagious. But looking at you, I am beginning to suspect that the disease of paranoia that Mr. De Boek is afflicted with is actually contagious. Now you are afflicted of the same disease. I congratulate you on this! Now you’ve done it!
And finally - some of you, who supported the opponents of the WAF, did you ever participate in large international exhibitions? New York, Miami, Basel, Florence, Berlin, Las Vegas, Tokyo ... If anyone of you have participated in these Expos You would have known how expensive is it costs. How much is a booth, how much it costs one-page of general catalog, how much it costs a banner over the entrance? If you don’t know, I’d answer - about ten thousand dollars. And this is a modest part - a small booth, one page, and no banner ... If you want some more - please double the amount, or may triple it. I know what I’m talking about, because for many years I participated in such international exhibitions. Did I get a return on the money I invested? I did. And even earned over. But I know that some artists have not been able to. And that's OK. This is a nature of the art market. No one can force a buyer to pull his wallet and buy your work, if he does not wish to. And I know many artists, who failed, then once again they go on exhibiting their paintings and persevere to succeed. This is how people begin to recognize them.
It's good to have a personal websites on the Internet, It's good to show your work on FaceBook and other network sites. Shower each other with praise and glory. ... But this is all an illusion, ladies and gentlemen! You must meet face to face talk with the audience, with your potential buyers. You must learn how to sell your paintings. But if you do not know how - there is such a profession, which is called Art Dealers. Usually they can be found at the Expos, or just in the galleries, which they normally own.
If you want your work to be sold, you must first understand that this is a business. And this business is defined by its own laws. Yes, there are some risks. You can quickly take off, or you also painfully fall. Just as in any business. Those, who are so afraid, sitting at home, leading a Bohemian way of life and recognizing only their art, and not terribly happy for someone else's success.
The WAF invites you to get rid of this inferiority complex, go to the light and demonstrate to everybody what you do best. If you fear to compete with others, stay home, work for your friends or a narrow range for your customers. But please, be ethical people, be artists, not only by profession but also by the soul.
Sincerely Michael Cheval |

I have been a professional artist for over 20 yrs, having owned a Gallery for 5 yrs. on Duval St. Key West, Florida & toured the United States with Art Festivals for 13 yrs. with promoters. I now enjoy the pleasure of representation & partnership with Galleries for the last 3 yrs.
Soooo along this incredibly bumpy ride I have had my share of groups and individuals offering & promising what I call "MUCH TO DO ABOUT NOTHING". I flew in to Orange County about 3 wks. ago and for those nameless artists screaming about 25 dollars, my tab for this venture was over a thousand for the plane ticket & hotel expenses etc. You see a very prominent gallery had offered me a contract, once I had made known about this deal to Jojo Marengo of WAF he was able to put me in contact with another artist who was having a much different picture painted for them then what I was promised by said Gallery. The information shared saved me considerable grief, at Jojo's suggestion I decided to venture out and see what was available on the West Coast, WAF hosted a dinner and a contact was made for a new Gallery. You see in my 20 yrs. in this business my one golden rule has been how does an individual follow through on what they say, Mr. Marengo has passed with flying colors.
So for those that are concerned what will WAF do for you, maybe you should be thinking what can I do for WAF to help make it a success.
As brilliant an artist you may be, in my twenty years I have found it takes those (promoters) with their own talents for connections to bring together an event & make it happen. My final thoughts on this matter to artists are: what would you rather do, listen to someone that spews negative & bitterness with no constructive thoughts to actually elevate you as an artist, OR not just join but participate with a cause that has already produced actions.
For those that continue to beat a negative drum all I hear anymore is "MUCH TO DO ABOUT NOTHING"

As many other artists, I had my personal doubts about the project, a lot of questions, a lot of thoughts, but everything was about art and I decided at that time to give my support to the project. Today, I am very pleased by the work of WAF and the perspectives of the organization; it overpassed my expectations, as it is not easy to put together in such a short time a powerful international art organization. Behind the WAF image there is a lot of work and we are indebted to Jojo and Antoine Marengo, the initiators and engine of the organization. What they built in this three months represents for other people a “life dream”. Let’s keep supporting this kind of initiatives, lets share our thoughts and I am sure I’ll meet a lot of you at WAF art expo. ALLISON PROULX I wouldn't worry too much about that small group that is bad mouthing WAF- one of them stooped to using profanity in her writings and at that point they lost any credibility that they might have had for me. As artists I suspect we have all experienced jealous, back stabbing behavior at some point in our careers, and those people usually dig their own graves. I am happy and proud to be part of such an ambitious, globally unifying event.

Jojo...No, I don't wonder why you don't fight back to all those so-called "critics", that for me are losers. Period. No, I wonder why you even think on them! Don't waste even a bit of energy on your fingers to write about them, about their existence... For me is clear, (and I think for all those who had accomplished something worthy in life, as I am sure, everyone, member or founder of WAF have did...) the counterpart of creation is destruction, and in this crazy world the shadow, the resentment and the lack of talent is disguised as "critics".
We are walking...thus the dogs are barking!

I want to express my deepest thanks to the generosity of the Marengo family members and the WAF organization for existing and most of all for giving hope and opening new doors in the complex world of Art, especially for new talents like me
As an fast ascending emerging artist, I know how hard it is to climb the ladder towards a dream, specially when not always it’s possible to afford certain fees requested from marvelous Gallerists and innovative Art Directors…. WAF believed in me, believed in my talent, and they provided me with a sponsorship to enable me to exhibit in the U.S. and that is one dream come true to me… this was the next step in my ladder of dreams…. Thanks to their ambitious initiative that goes beyond frontiers, I have been given the chance to share my art to the world’s eyes. Thank you with all my heart, Sincerely, Eugenia di.Lorenzo Milan, Italy |

Hi Antoine
I am looking forward to Expo and to work with you. When it comes to the below, I have no time to follow what people write at Face Book and others, I am very busy painting and exhibiting all over Europe.
I assume that there are always some stupid people out there that have nothing better to do with their time. If I where you I would not even bother to comment these idiot, just do what you plan to do and lets make a successful World Art Expo in June. You have my Full Support.

Dear Antoine, I'd like to thank you, Jojo, your family and Umbrella Publishing for the opportunity to be a part of this exciting event. I applaud your effort and commitment to World Art Foundation and the artistic community. As a struggling and dedicated artist living at the bottom of the world (Australia), I've found it is rare to be given an opportunity like this so I believe in, and look forward to, the success of the World Art Expo. To me it has already been a success in that it has enabled a network of artists and art lovers to connect and I'm impressed by what has been achieved already in such a short time. I'm thrilled to be involved and want to offer my support to help make this idea succeed.
I really appreciate the graciousness, hard work and dedication that you have shown and I'm very grateful for your continuing support. Trust is crucial to restoring faith in our troubled world and essential to restoring global confidence in trade and security. Art and the World Art Foundation can be a beacon of hope in a cynical world by showing that trust = hope. If we don't trust in each other then humanity is doomed. Keep up the great work Antoine and don't let the naysayers get you down.
Kind Regards Jo Tracy Sydney Australia |

Dear Antoine,
You have my full support. My wife and I are making plans to attend and exhibit my art at the "World Art Expo 09, June 7-14, 2009. Do not be dissuaded by people like Christian de Bloek with false rumors and gossip. They have, so far, made no contact with me. If they do I will tell them to quit harassing us. Who is this man? What is his agenda?

Anja Etwal-Nielsen Here’s a statement/testimonial on the experiences that I’ve had so far with World Art Foundation. It’s very important to me to tell from the beginning that this testimonial is written on my own initiative. World Art Foundation has never asked me if I would write something positive about them. The thought of writing a positive statement about the World Art Foundation came to me after having only had positive experiences with the organisation that simply don’t match what people say about the World Art Foundation in a chat room and artist web site I came across after having “googled” World Art Foundation. I was introduced to WAF by a friend on Face Book. I visited their site and decided very quickly to apply for a subscription.
The services they offer – and the artists I’m presented among are just great. It’s an acknowledgement to me to be represented with artists who are obviously great – that it self assures me that it’s a place I want to be. After having applied for a subscription I was contacted by Antoine Marengo just a couple of days after. He has always answered any questions I’ve had right away – and had the time to talk to me on the phone if I found it necessary to have my questions answered that way. It may be the kind of service you should always take for granted, but it’s the first time I’ve experienced it from an art organisation!!! The service – and the opportunity to exhibit at the World Expo 09 is worth mentioning as well. It´s very difficult to be in the art world. But I think for a new, unknown artist it’s even more difficult to get into the art world as well. So I think it should be seen as an opportunity for getting “out there” with your art instead of talking negatively about it. Because for artist-members of World Art Foundation there’s no participation fee. Which is absolutely incredible since so many exhibition events and galleries charge a huge fee for participation? In Europe as well as the states I’ve been offered to participate in exhibitions and art fairs with fees ranging from $1000 - $10.000. That made me doubt whether these organizations and galleries actually liked my art – or my money? So if anybody want to focus on the negative in the art world, why not go for the kind of organizations and galleries that charge a huge fee for being an “art promoter” for unknown, emerging artists, instead of those who don’t! Anja Etwal-Nielsen, March 20th, 2009 |

HI Antoine! I think WAF ıs the nonprofit artists organization that has a chance to make a grate art world. This is the way artists explore their art and can become stronger. The success of the World Expo 09 in California will make WAF the most important art organization in the world.
In WAF we are sharing art world wide, this is impotent for art and artist. We hope 100% success of WAF and all nonprofit art organization.
I think WAF team is very busy with their work to make combination. Every good thing had some obstacle. So don’t worry. All we are with WAF...Carry on. Tarak Mahadi Bangladesh. |

Hello, I am a proud member of WAF. I am grateful to the Marengo family members, hardworking organizers of the 2009 exhibit in Orange County, California, who believed in my talent and will give me the opportunity to show my art in their event. The WAF idea is very innovative and permits the exchange of ideas between artists from all corners of the world. Sadly, there are angry and envious people who enjoy trying to destroy other people good work ... But I believe that good thoughts are stronger than negativity. Continue with your excellent work. Dear Antoine,
I am very surprised at this story. I received several letters from Mr. De Block Facebook on and questioning of my artist friends in Europe. This is detrimental to the reputation and for the Word Art Expo 2009. It would be a serious act that artists are not victims of a misunderstanding or a movement against the hand of this individual. Therefore, I was appointed by artists to represent and I want to participate in the exhibition next June in order to reassure the concerns and fears of artists. Can you give me a hotel where I could live a few days to Brea?
Could we meet Jojo during my stay in order to discuss and visit the exhibition? I advise you to put in place communication service for artists. Who can not wait to see my paintings and those of other artist friends in your beautiful places of Brea, Best regards, Claude DAMIEN Dour-Belgium Artiste Plasticien & Ecrivain Animateur & Prof d'Arts Plastiques http://www.artmajeur.com/claudedamien http://claudedamien.agence-presse.net |

Dear Jojo,
In this day and age it not often we meet people that actually say what they do and then do what they say! You continually exceed my expectations. Your commitment, diligence and passion are to be applauded. You complete all that you promise and much more!. Your ‘Best of’ magazines are a very creative venue. I greatly appreciate your features on my gallery and the many fine artists represented. I have certainly benefited greatly from the well written feature articles and thank you for your continued support. Your World Art Foundation Project will benefit the artist and those that collect fine art on many levels. I have no doubt WAF will be a huge success…like all the projects you create, develop, produce and bring to fruition. Jojo, it is always a pleasure to work with you and I look forward to supporting your efforts in making the World Art Foundation a program one which you, the many talented artists and myself can be equally proud.

Hi Jojo and Antoine,
I really enjoyed meeting with you last week; your efforts in building WAF are very impressive. Your dedication to high principals and the care and treatment of people is evident.
I remember when you started the Art & Fashion Group and changed a whole industry, making all of us feel more positive about ourselves.
I have seen the posts spearheaded by Christian de Bloek; it is rather amusing to think that someone has so little to do that they spend their time trying to discourage others from making the world a better place. Please pray for these people; they have so little happiness and obviously they need someone to care about them. Remember - we had detractors in the beginning of AF&G and eventually they either joined us or went away to bother someone else.
I applaud you for staying focused on WAF and spending your time loving others - including those that mistakenly mock your efforts. You have a great capacity to stay positive and everyone that meets you comes away a better person.
Take care -

Antoine, Let me add my voice to those who would stand up for you and the great work you are doing. You and your staff have been very attentive and responsive to me personally. And I for one know what the real cost of what it is you're providing and can clearly see the obvious value. So let's remember the timely and relevant words of Gustave Flaubert, who wrote, "A man is a critic when he cannot be an artist, in the same way that a man becomes an informer when he cannot be a soldier." While critics have the ability to sting us, the wounds are superficial at best, particularly when they have little or no basis to begin with. The critic's job is too easy. All they need to do is pick up and cast stones. But artists, and those who foster them, are doing the very real and often very hard work of creating, building and presenting works of beauty. I love that you quote Mother Theresa. Let me add the words of the One she followed, "No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit." Antoine, the fruit doesn't lie, it reveals what kind of tree is bearing it. Please keep doing what you're doing and pay no attention to those to whom no attention is all that's deserved. I'm looking forward to having my work represented at the Expo, and expect the same degree of assistance and attention that I have received thus far.
My thanks to you and your staff.
Sincerely, Richard DeVeau Chicago, IL

REPORT OF SHAHLA ROSA a facebook member of Visionary Art Dear facebook friends and those who are members of WAF, I\'m writing this letter to assure you all, that, the world Art Foundation \'s plan for WORLD ART EXPO 09 in California is fully clear and correct, according to my visit to the locations in the city of BREA. I was invited by Jojo Marengo, to take a tour, of the area on Saturday, Feb/07/09. I accepted with pleasure, we met in Irvine and he drove me to the city of Brea, we visited the Embassy Suites in Brea which was included of the hotel\'s ballroom and meeting rooms. Our tour continued to the Brea Plaza that included WAF headquarters, a former two-story bank , also 4 adjacent buildings with quite large spaces. All these spaces were fully visible by visitors and eye catchers. The most interesting fact is, that we DO NOT HAVE TO HANG OUR PAINTINGS IN A BOOT, YET ACTUAL GALLERIES, which I personally prefer and looks more professional. I never accepted to attend a show if I have to use a boot for my paintings. The other important fact is, for the first time in the history of ART-EXPO\'s, Jojo trying to create an expanded ART_ EXPO in different locations. There is no doubt that we will have the Expo on June 11th-15th, mostly in the city of Brea and other parts of Orange County as well. I personally was very impressed with the effort that Jojo & Antoine put together with this new great Idea, and congratulate them for doing something different as well as revolutionary. thank you all for your attention, and see you all @ ART- EXPO 2009 . Warm regards, Shahla Rosa |

Thank you for your warm hospitality and the privilege to be part of the presentation evenings. I am very impressed with the quality and scope of the event. I am also grateful for the opportunity to meet with many wonderful people - artists, journalists, sponsors and curators. It was pleasure to meet Jojo Marengo and his son Antoine, HB Gallery owner Peggy Howell and the team of her gallery, brilliant artists Torreen West, Adam Scott Rote, Tristan Schane, Fernanda Natale-Reynolds, Norman Deesing and many others. I was pleased to see the results of the WAF team and the Marengo family. Since I was in California three months ago, much had been done and the project ceased to be just a vision- it became a reality. I am vey impressed with the exhibition pavilions where the Expo 09 will take place. I was very impressed by the magnitude and size of the area provided for art exposition. I also visited the home of the future WAF museum. This bright spacious building can become a great museum created by the artists and, eventually, become a unique place to hold future events .
Once again I want to express my gratitude and admiration of the whole WAF team and personally to Mr. Marengo for their courage and dedication. What they’re doing is truly unique. Not surprisingly, there are people who doubt the reality of the WAF exhibitions. The project really is like a fairy tale, it's too good to be true. However, it is the truth and I confirm it. WAF is not a fantasy, these are people working 24 hours a day, an incredibly creative and well educated. People, who love the arts, care about the artists and know how to combine the useful with the pleasant. Thanks Antoine for circulating Michael's powerful and a befitting reply to the 5 unfair opponents to WAF (Christian De Bloek and his ilk) for their unkind, false and unfounded criticism. Your letter at places is very harsh but the bloke deserves it. The five have been spreading rumors and raising all kinds of baseless questions.
I have been getting info from Michael and Marengo and I keep on informing members of my various groups, two of them were: Abstract Art Lovers Group and All Indian Artists in the World Group. Latest being Shayna Bracha Farber. I am very proud of Marengo and all of you for doing yeoman service to the Art community. You all deserve, in fact, highest awards from the Art World. One day you all will be rewarded. I wish I were part of your team.
Wish you good luck.

Also, just a side note - whatever these attacks on the WAF are, don't allow them to derail your efforts or upset your spirit...you are doing great work and the big picture will be apparent to all in time. Leadership can be a challenge, but one worth facing. Also remember that much of an opponent's power, comes from our willingness to deplete our own energy by staying engaged with him. Best to you and your family, your work and support are much appreciated.
